The Testing Center offers a quiet separate setting where students can complete assessments according to their individual needs. Together, the professor and student determine whether the Testing Center is a good fit for the student and set a time for the assessment. The professor then fills out the Testing Center Proctoring Form at least a week before the assessment is to take place to reserve their time slot. Both the student and the professor will be notified if the requested time is available or if a new time needs to be set up.
The Testing Center is located in the Learning Center in room 020 on the bottom floor of the Carlyle Campbell Library. Assessments can be schedules by appointment between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday-Thursday, and between 8:00am and 2:00pm, Friday. If you have questions or concerns, we are available online during regular office hours via our WebChat or email us at learningcenter@meredith.edu with the subject line: Testing Center.
For additional information about the Testing Center, please see the Testing Center website.
Success coaches offer students one-on-one mentoring to support their success as college students. With the help of a success coach, students can identify and overcome obstacles to their academic success, develop skills that will support their success long after graduation, and connect with resources and programs on campus.
Students can schedule an appointment with a success coach.
Learning Center tutors are trained to assist their peers with a variety of subjects, including math, chemistry, biology, world languages, and more. Our tutors can also assist students with writing and study skills across all content areas. Sessions typically last thirty minutes and can occur online or in-person in the Learning Center.
Embedded Tutoring
Embedded tutors collaborate with faculty to support students' learning in a particular course. If you are interested in embedding a tutor in your classes, you can find more information about embedded tutoring on the Learning Center Information for Faculty page.
Recommending a Tutor
Is there an outstanding student in your content area that you'd like to recommend as a future tutor? Members of faculty can recommend students by completing the faculty recommendation form. In order to become peer tutors at the Learning Center, potential tutors must also complete an application, an interview, and the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certified tutor training program, IDS-155: Tutor Training. Additional information about recommending tutors can be found on the Learning Center Information for Faculty page.
