Ebook Central contains over 200,000 e-books, most of which are scholarly. You can read books online, print or download individual chapters, and save e-books to a personal bookshelf.

Reading scholarly reviews of history books will give you insight into their quality, their relevance to your research question, and the perspective or lens through which they view the people and events that they cover.

You can find book reviews in the library's three main history databases below, by using the Advanced Search and limiting the publication type to Reviews.  Either search the title of a particular book in quotation marks, or do keyword searching to find reviews of books that mention those keywords.

In addition to searching the catalog by keyword, you may wish to browse the stacks for books on your country or region, using the table below as your guide.

Did you find a book you want that isn't accessible through Meredith's library?  Don't worry, we can probably get it for you using Interlibrary Loan.

You will usually have it for several weeks.  It can take about 7-14 days on average to get a book, so place your requests early.

Bibliographies list classic works on particular subject areas. Use these to help you identify sources worth consulting.
