Theatre Raleigh/Hot Summer Nights at The Kennedy began in the summer of 2005 in an effort to bring a smaller and more intimate professional theatre to Downtown Raleigh.

The Mission for NC Theatre was written to reflect the Theatre's focus on producing major Broadway musicals of universal appeal as a way to help revitalize Raleigh's downtown. The Theatre was started in 1983 and is now under the direction of De Ann Jones. The Theatre's permanent home is in Raleigh Memorial Auditorium under a contract with the City.

As the capital of North Carolina, Greater Raleigh is rich in performing arts options for those who love culture and sophistication. The North Carolina Symphony makes its home here, along with the North Carolina Opera, North Carolina Ballet and North Carolina Theatre. Partnering with N.C. Theatre, Broadway Series South presents some of the Great White Way's favorites at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh.

RLT is a welcoming community using theatre to enrich, educate, entertain and engage volunteers, students, and audiences of all ages.

Burning Coal is a small professional theatre company and an incorporated, non-profit organization. They work with a mixture of AEA and non-Equity actors. Burning Coal is a member of Theatre Communications Group, the national organization of non-profit professional theatres and the North Carolina Theatre Conference, a state-wide consortium of theatres of all sizes and types.

Theatre In The Park, located in the northern end of Raleigh’s scenic Pullen Park, is internationally acclaimed for its outstanding theatrical achievements, with more than 40,000 people attending last year alone.

Manbites Dog Theater, a professional non-profit theater company founded in Durham in October 1987, serves the Triangle area of central North Carolina. Manbites Dog’s purpose is to produce new and challenging theatrical events; showcase and nurture developing playwrights, directors, actors, and artists; facilitate cross-disciplinary and cross-community projects; and help strengthen this region’s theatrical community.

PlayMakers is the professional theatre in residence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Recent seasons have seen classic plays by Shakespeare, Beckett, Arthur Miller and Tennessee Williams, plays from the finest contemporary writers such as August Wilson, Tom Stoppard, Suzan-Lori Parks, Tony Kushner and Sarah Ruhl, and two world premiere productions.
