Film Review Index
For pre-1986 films this print book is a great place to start. It contains lists of reviews for movies, with each review's date and the publication it appeared in. Once you have found a list of reviews you can use the Journals tab on the library homepage to see if we have each publication for the date you need.

Variety Film Reviews
These print books are another good source for reviews from 1988 and before-- it's a collection of movie reviews from the magazine Variety. The reviews are organized by date, not by movie title, so it will help to know when the review appeared; you can find the review dates using this book's index, or the Film Review Index.
