Bio

COL (RET) Irma H. Cooper, a female veteran, Army Nurse, and Commander. She had three commands, 176th Medical Group, 7305 MTSB Battalion, and 113th CSC Company. She was deployed to Iraq in 2003, as a commander, and her higher command was 30th Med Bde. She received a Bronze star and multiple awards. She graduated from Army War College and had a wonderful 30-year career in the US Army from 1983-2013. She is also a part of various organizations: The advisory committee of minority veterans, the National Association of Black Military Women, The International Association of Military Women of Color, The California Women Veterans Leadership Council, and Chair of the armed services and veterans affairs committee.      --Compiled by Zora McKissic
