Checking PDF Document Accessibility

PDF Documents should also be checked for accessibility. Making a Word Document accessible makes the PDF check a lot easier and manageable.

Main items to watch for:

  • Title and Author
  • Tagging
  • Add ALT-Text to images, tables, graphs,or indicating images are decorative (does not need alt-text)
  • Check to be sure the document has optical character recognition (OCR) to be readable.
