The ninth president of Meredith College was introduced by the Board of Trustees during a campus celebration on March 27, 2024. Dr. Sapp brings 25 years of higher education experience at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. There, she served as a department chair, division chair, and associate dean and most recently as Provost. Dr. Sapp was also a tenured full professor in communication and held doctoral faculty status.
President Sapp’s scholarly interests include leadership communication styles, interpersonal communication, and gender communication. She holds a Ph.D. in communication from the University of Missouri, a master’s degree in speech communication from the University of Northern Colorado, and a bachelor of science in sociology from William Woods College.
President Sapp is married to Travis Tamerius and has three children: sons Coleman and Clayton and daughter Carley.
As she contemplated coming to Meredith College, Dr. Sapp stated, "“I'm excited about leading Meredith into the future. There are so many opportunities for institutions of higher education today and so many directions we can go. It's going to be such a wonderful experience to work with everyone to see what's the next best step for Meredith College.”
