Fiaunna Shivers was born February 23, 1976 in Queens, New York. She claims that politics is something a part of her DNA as she fondly recalls the Hip Hop movement for equality and justice. She was encouraged by her grandma to become politically active as she remembers her grandmother voting in every election when she was younger. Once working as the State Director of Civic Engagement, Ms. Shivers has recently started her own business as a Civic Engagement Consultant, walking in her belief that women should have the same role in politics that they do in the household. --Compiled by Delaney Rhodes
