Ledford, a former chairmen for the Meredith College Board of Trustees, after he gifted the funding for the new building. Ledford Hall was built to house the Education, Sociology, Social Work, and Psychology departments. In 1995, the triangle are parents verbalized a need to have a behavior based training for children with autism. This lead to the creation of the Meredith Autism Program or MAP.
